GOTS
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a globally applied standard for the processing of textiles from biologically produced natural fibre. It defines environmental requirements along the entire textile supply chain, as well as social criteria. Quality assurance takes place through independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
BSCI
Amfori BSCI provides a Code of Conduct with a set of values and principles that help amfori members improve their own policies and practices, such as updating purchasing contracts to conduct business responsibly. It is an international certification standard that encourages organizations to develop, maintain and apply socially acceptable practices in the workplace. BSCI Code of Conduct addresses issues including forced and child labor, occupational health and safety, freedom of association and collective bargaining, discrimination, disciplinary practices, working hours, compensation, and management systems.
SEDEX
Sedex stands for Supplier Ethical Data Exchange, which is an online system that allows suppliers to maintain data on ethical & responsible practices and allows them to share this information with their customers. SEDEX uses its own social auditing methodology named SMETA (SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit). SMETA enables businesses to assess their sites and suppliers to understand working conditions in their supply chain. During an audit the site is assessed based on the organization’s standards of labor, health and safety, environment and business ethics. These 4 factors are considered the foundational elements of SEDEX.
Goodweave
Goodweave is an assurance on behalf of importers and manufacturers that goods they make and sell are produced without child, forced or bonded labor. Complying with the Standard requires complete supply chain transparency verified by regular and unannounced inspections of all production facilities.
Care & Fair
Care & Fair is an industry initiative of the European carpet trade and therefore, the forum of an engaged and responsible part of the industry.The organisation based in India dedicated to the elimination of child labour in the rug industry and the education of children in weaving areas.
