Our Story
The journey of Hira Home began in 1940 and is one that evolved over generations. A journey that we are really proud of. It is a journey of dreams, ambitions and perseverance. A journey that crossed oceans and continents to leave a mark all over the globe.
ESTD 1940
Mr. Hira Lall Gupta, a man from a humble family background in Delhi set up a small shop in Old Delhi dealing in Indian handicrafts & ivory items. His only son Mr. Harishanker Gupta joined him in the late forties. Together, they focussed on expanding the line of products and started to reach out to more buyers.
OVERSEAS SHIPMENT
1965
Mr. Hugh F. McKean, the director of Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art chanced upon this shop, and encouraged Mr. Harishanker Gupta to send a small selection of items for their Museum shop. And hence, the first ever overseas shipment was sent by post.
